How to calculate your life path number, step by step

The life path number is the most important number in numerology. It comes from your birth date and describes the big journey of your life. The method only needs addition.

Four steps

Reduce the day to a single digit by adding its digits.
Reduce the month the same way.
Reduce the year (add the four digits, then add again if needed).
Add the three results and keep reducing until one digit remains.

Two exceptions: if you reach 11 or 22 at any step, keep it, because these are master numbers. And if the total before the final reduction is 13, 14, 16 or 19, that is a karmic debt number, so note it.

Example: 18/04/1992

Day: 1 + 8 = 9
Month: 04 = 4
Year: 1 + 9 + 9 + 2 = 21, then 2 + 1 = 3
Add them: 9 + 4 + 3 = 16, then 1 + 6 = 7

The life path number is 7, and because the total before reducing is 16, this is a 16/7 path (karmic debt 16). See karmic debt numbers 13, 14, 16, 19.
